The United Nations' advocacy to combat Child Labour through 'Conventions of the Rights of the Child' became universally accepted and ratified by 190 states in less than a decade since its inception in 1989. Regulation of labour issues had been entrusted with the International Labour Organization (ILO) which promoted the eradication of child labour by setting up a minimum age for employment.
Child labour, however, has been common since the Victorian era but became apparently rampant since the take-off of industrial revolution . The Europeans had obviously looked for new lands to propagate business and merchandise and had targeted North and South America (the New World), Caribbean, India and Asia for the same.
If the imports of developed nations are reviewed, their major exporters are those countries who are dealing with the issue of child labour. History is evidence enough to confirm the rampancy of child labour in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries in America, Britain France, Germany, and Italy, the countries struggling at the political forefront for a stable economic foundation.
Micro Finance
The people who benefit from these services are peasants, unemployed or self-employed people with very low incomes. Some of these people have very few assets to use in order to get a loan and, even if they do have land, they often don't have documents to prove ownership. .
Envoirnment Awareness
Children of today's generation are the ones who will inherit our planet. Sad to say, there is a possibility that they will not enjoy the benefits of having a healthy environment like our ancestors had and what we lucky have as of now. That is the reason why many environmental activists actively show their advocacy in proclaiming environment awareness to the public.
Rehabiliation
The women and children of Pakistan are vulnerable to malnutrition, disease, exposure and exploitation. Education and basic family function has been waylaid due to immediate and projected effects caused by widespread flooding in July/August 2010.
Free education
The quality of schooling provided to children by public schools in India is still in question. Many Muslim children resist distant schools for education. The education of children in public schools remained riddled with absenteeism and poor management and appointments based on political expediency. Health
It is not surprising that poor health is a direct consequence of poverty in pakistan. For one, poverty prevents a child from getting the nutrition that he or she needs, and it is a problem that often starts right from when he or she was still inside his or her mother's womb. We all know the direct relationship of the mother's health to the health of the fetus she carries. If she does not get proper nutrition, naturally she will not give birth to a healthy baby.Child abuse & child labour
It is disappointing to hear about child labor in this fast-paced world as this issue has been popped out ever since those ancient days and it is still happening now. It is like a never-ending issue. When talking about child labor, we can relate it to children exploitation, children slavery and also children trafficking. Child labor can be defined as the exploitation of children aged below 18 who are forced to work illegally which may harm them physically and abuse them psychologically.
